Aloo Paratha

Yummy wheat paratha made out of stuffed potatoes.

Ingredients

For Chapathi dough

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp oil
  • salt

For Potato Stuffing

  • 3 potatoes
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp corainder seeds crushed
  • 1 onion big sized, chopped
  • 1 tsp corainder powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp corainder leaves

Instructions
 

For Potato Stuffing

  • Pressure cook 3 potatoes with 2 cups water for 4 whistles.
  • Peel off the skin and mash them completely.
  • Saute 1 tsp oil, add 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp fennel and 1 tsp crushed corainder seeds.
  • Then add 1 big chopped onion and fry it along with this mix.
  • Then add the potato mash, 1 tsp corainder powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/4 tsp chilli powder, required salt and corainder leaves and mix them.
  • Cook in low flame for 1-2 mins. The stuffing is done
  • Cool down the mix.

For Paratha

  • Mix 2 cups wheat flour, 3/4 warm water, required salt and make the chapathi dough. Spread the dough with 1 tsp oil and keep it aside for 20 mins.
  • Make small balls out of the potato stuffing mix, keep them inside the chapathi dough, roll them and make the aloo parathas.

Notes

  1. You can use generous amount of ghee for this recipe to enhance the taste of the paratas.
